Industrial action – a defining feature of 2022 – has ramped up over recent weeks, as trade unions continue to strike in disputes over pay and working conditions amid the cost of living crisis.
The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) has been at the forefront, leading tens of thousands of staff members in a series of walkouts.
Currently, there are no further rail strike dates scheduled, but union leaders have warned the action is set to continue for months.
Union leaders have insisted they are prepared to continue taking industrial action until pay deals are agreed with rail bosses.
On Friday, the union’s general secretary, Mick Lynch said strikes would continue for “as long as it takes” after rejecting another offer from Network Rail and train operating companies in a long-running dispute over pay and conditions.
Please double check your journey before you start to make way to your shift, and we will update you on any further changes to strikes.
If more strikes are planned, here are some tips to plan your journey:
Ask someone you're close to for a lift
Call a taxi/uber
Ask the service if there any other temps or staff travelling to the service from near your area
Ask if there is a pick up point you could travel to, where the service can collect you
It is extremely important to us here at AJ Recruitment we make sure our service users, and those who need our support are not let down. Please get in touch as soon as possible if you think you may be affected by these strikes, and wish to discuss alternative travel arrangements with us
